Join us online Wednesday, September 30, 7 – 8 PM to hear three East Richmond residents — Rita Barouch, Susan Werhle, and Sue Van Hatten — share how they are reaching out to their neighbors to make connections and build the basic skills to coordinate a response to disaster events.
Their half-hour presentation will be followed by East Richmond neighbor and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) member Gerry La Londe-Berg, who will cover some disaster scenarios we’ll likely be dealing with.

Hosted by Richmondside, Richmond Confidential, The Advocate, and Contra Costa College with candidate’s Claudia Jimenez and Ahmad Anderson at the Richmond Municipal Auditorium in the City Hall Plaza on Thursday, October 1. The event is free, but you are asked to register.
San Pablo Ave. mural restoration nears completion
Working closely with its creator, a small team of Richmond artists has been restoring John Wehrle’s whimsical mural “A Revisionist History of San Pablo Avenue.” The mural is located on the avenue, beneath the I-80 overpass.
We are delighted that this art work, which takes whimsical liberties with the present and past of our neighborhood’s main street, is now being preserved for its future.
The work been undertaken with the support of CalTrans and the City of Richmond.
Preparing for the super El Niño

Come together with neighbors to discuss how to prepare for the heavy winter rains expected this year. This is an interactive session. You’l be given a map and scenarios to prepare for and respond to extreme weather events. Hosted by the North & East Neighborhood CERT
